KuoPage Privacy Policy (International Sync)
KuoPage is a new-tab extension for Chrome and Edge. Your favorites, groups, thumbnails, statistics and settings stay on your device unless you turn on cloud sync. This policy covers the optional international sync service at sync.reais.cc, used when you choose the international data region and sign in with Google. The extension itself and the Mainland China service are covered by the KuoPage privacy policy.
1. When this service is contacted
- Only after you choose the international region in KuoPage and click Continue with Google. The browser first asks you to allow access to
https://sync.reais.cc. - Nothing from your library is uploaded until you review and confirm the first merge.
- After that, the extension contacts the service only when needed: a few seconds after you change something, when you open a new tab more than 5 minutes after the last check, about once an hour while a tab is open, and with growing pauses after errors. It does not sync in the background after the browser is closed.
2. Google sign-in
Sign-in opens Google's own page in a separate window and asks only for the basic openid, email and profile scopes. From Google we receive:
- your Google account identifier — kept to recognise you next time;
- your email address — kept with that identifier so we can find your account if you write to us; it is never shown to others or used for marketing;
- your name — placed in your sign-in token so the extension can show it; not otherwise stored on the server;
- your profile picture — copied once at sign-in as a small image (about 128 × 128 pixels) into our storage, so the extension can show it without contacting Google. Only pictures hosted by Google are copied. The extension keeps its own copy on your device.
We never see your Google password and do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts or any other Google data. A sign-in lasts 30 days; afterwards you sign in again. A pending sign-in expires after 5 minutes and is then deleted.
KuoPage's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. What is synced
- Favorites (permanent ones only): full URL, title, group, position, source (added by you, imported or preset), creation and update times, and deleted/restored state — the deleted state lets a deletion reach your other devices.
- Groups: name, position and times.
- Thumbnails of those favorites: the compressed page screenshots you saved, up to 512 KB each.
- Merge snapshots: before each first merge the service keeps a copy of your cloud library so you can undo the merge. A snapshot is deleted after 24 hours or once used; at most 5 are kept.
Not synced: read-later pages, click statistics, settings, wallpapers and anything else on your device. The service never receives your browsing history or search queries.
4. Where and how it is stored
- The service runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). Each account's library lives in its own database (a Cloudflare Durable Object); thumbnails and profile pictures live in Cloudflare R2. Data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where Cloudflare operates.
- All traffic uses HTTPS. Thumbnails and the profile picture are served only to your own signed-in extension.
- For troubleshooting, Cloudflare keeps request logs (including IP address, time and request path) for a few days; we do not log the contents of your library. Cloudflare may also keep internal recovery copies of databases for up to 30 days.
- We use no analytics, advertising or tracking, and we do not sell or share your data. Cloudflare and Google act only as service providers as described above.
5. Your choices
- Sign out in KuoPage to stop syncing. Your device keeps its favorites, and the cloud copy stays for when you sign in again.
- Revoke Google access at any time in your Google Account.
- Delete your data: write to [email protected] from the email address of your Google account. Within 15 working days we delete your synced library, thumbnails, snapshots, profile picture and the link between your Google account and your sync account. Recovery copies held by Cloudflare disappear within 30 days.
- Uninstalling the extension or signing out does not delete cloud data on its own.
6. Children
The service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes and status
The international service is an early, free service and may change or end; if it ends, we will say so in the extension first so you can keep your favorites on your device. Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new date.
